The Askja “Origin” hybrid amplifier is a sizeable audio component with an intricate and unusually-shaped design that made it impractical to manufacture using traditional methods. The tooling costs would have been exorbitant. By using Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology on a Stratasys Fortus 900mc 3D printer, the company was able to produce the parts using ULTEMâ„¢ 9085 and ASA materials. The Additive Manufacturing process allowed for greater design flexibility and customization potential, making it an ideal choice for this complex component.
